In 2010, Mexicans commemorate the two historical events that gave form to our country: the bicentennial of the independence movement and the centennial of the Mexican revolution.
This is a good time to reflect on the ideas that inspired these events, to help us better understand our past, comprehend our present and be prepared for the future.
The extensive program beyond Mexican borders, that are taking place during this year, contemplates an ample catalogue of activities where the ethnical diversities and multicultural particularities of our country are been reflected.
The Mexican Film Cycle is possible thanks to Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs, through the Consulate General of Mexico in Toronto, and Televisa Foundation.

Tuesday November 9, "Las abandonadas"
Tuesday November 23, "Flor silvestre"
Tuesday November 30," La perla"

Ciclo de cine mexicano: El México de Emilio Fernández y Gabriel Figueroa
Dolores del Río en "Bugambilia"
Como parte de las conmemoraciones de los 200 años del inicio de la Independencia y de los 100 años del inicio de la Revolución Mexicana, la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores, a través del Consulado de México en Toronto, y con el apoyo de Fundación Televisa, invita al ciclo de cine mexicano titulado "El México de Emilio Fernández y Gabriel Figueroa".
En este ciclo se proyectarán las siguientes películas:
"Bugambilia", martes 12 de octubre
"Pueblerina", martes 19 de octubre
"Las abandonadas", martes 9 de noviembre
"Flor silvestre", martes 23 de noviembre
"La perla", martes 30 de noviembre
Las funciones son gratuitas, tienen subtítulos en inglés y comienzan a las 7:00pm en Lula Lounge (1585 Dundas St. W, oeste de Dufferin).
